We understand the unique needs of individuals seeking assistance through the Department of Rehabilitation and are committed to providing a comprehensive range of services to support their journey toward independence, empowerment, and improved quality of life. Vocational Assessment and Career Planning: Our team of vocational experts will conduct comprehensive assessments to identify your strengths, interests, and aptitudes. We will help you explore various career options, set realistic goals, and develop a personalized career plan tailored to your abilities and aspirations.
Job Readiness and Skills Training: We offer a wide range of job readiness and skills training programs to equip you with the essential tools for employment success. These may include resume writing, interview preparation, communication skills, workplace etiquette, computer literacy, and other relevant training to enhance your employability. Additionally, we prepare you for workplaces by training soft skills such as: Work Ethic, Teamwork, Communication, Attitude, Decision-Making, Conflict Resolution, Adaptability, Diversity, Inclusion, and etc.
Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment: We understand that assistive technology and adaptive equipment can play a crucial role in overcoming barriers to employment. Our team will assess your needs and provide recommendations for appropriate assistive devices, software, and equipment to enhance your productivity and independence in the workplace. Some of the most common assistive technology we offer are:
Text to Speech and screen readers: JAWS, Kurzweil, NVDA, VoiceOver, ORCA, BRLTTY, WebAnywhere, and etc.
Speech to Text: Dragon, Dictate/Transcribe from Microsoft, Apple, and Google Doc, Braina (best for multinational businesses), Windows Speech Recognition, Tazti, and etc.
Note Taking: OneNote, Evernote, AudioNotes1, Liquid Text, Margin Note, Noteability (iPad), Evernote, and etc.
Technology Training: Technology is changing every second and sometime it become a challenge for us. We at SCE provide installing, training and supporting on how to use specific technology in our daily routing in school, work, and home will support individuals, families, and coworkers. Job Placement and Supported Employment: We have established partnerships with local employers to facilitate job placement opportunities that align with your skills and interests. Our job placement specialists will work closely with you to identify suitable positions, arrange interviews, and provide ongoing support during the transition period. Additionally, we offer supported employment programs that provide on-the-job coaching and assistance to ensure your long-term success.
Educational counseling: School Enrollment/transfer with over 63 comparison criteria tools using Smart and Automated Systems. Some of the comparisons are such as in state/out state tuition, Student to Faculty Ratio, Average Pell Grant Aid, requirements, tests, housing, acceptance rates, majors, and etc. In addition, we provide tutoring in variety of subjects including English, Math, Physics, Chemistry, and more in variety of different desired languages including English, Farsi/Dari, Pashto, Russian, Ukrainian, Moldovian, and more.
Document Conversion: We assist individuals with disabilities to convert any format document to any other format ensuring it is accessible for their educational and employment endeavor.
Mental Health and Emotional Well-being: We recognize the importance of addressing mental health and emotional well-being as part of your overall development. Our team includes licensed counselors and therapists who can provide individual or group counseling sessions to help you manage stress, build resilience, enhance self-esteem, and promote overall emotional well-being. Transportation: We are excited to introduce our Transportation Services, dedicated to making your experience with us even more convenient and accessible. We provide transportation services from home to school, doctor, lab, hospital, etc. appointments.
Interpretation and translation: Our dedicated multilingual staff are ready to help you in all stages of interpretation and translation. Currently, we provide those services in Farsi/Dari, Ukrainian, Russian, German, and Moldavian languages.
